Is technology the best answer to environmental destruction?

Government policies and international agreements are another effective method to the problem of environmental solution. The power of sociopolitical influences will be able to reduce to reduce the amount of worldwide pollution. The Kyoto Protocol is one of the treaties that bind nations to the commitment to keep carbon emissions after rectifying the protocol. International treaties are also of the nature that countries that do not sign are placed under constant scrutiny and criticism and they will be pressured to join the treaty. For example, the United States who until recently had stubbornly defied international calls for them to rectify the protocol, saying solution to the problem lay within technology rather than such treaties. Ironically, the President had recently declared that the US would rectify the Protocol, signalling a major victory in the ongoing campaign against environmental destruction. This further show that there are better solutions than technology advancement to alleviating environmental woes.
