Is technology the best answer to environmental destruction?

Technology may potentially provide many solutions to the problem of environmental destruction, but its significance in preventing or perhaps even reversing the slow but steady degradation of our living conditions will come to naught if not applied appropriately or sufficiently. It may well be handy if not essential to advocate fervently the benefits of a particular breakthrough in technology, but if the majority do not use it, it may be nothing more than a white elephant. Hybrid cars are touted to reduce carbon emissions and their benefits trumpeted throughout the pro-environment conservation camp. However, the conventional car still rules the roost, with no significant decrease in its numbers long after the introduction of the more eco-friendly vehicle. ultimately, technology is merely a tool on its own; its outreach is limited by the amount of effort spent on putting it in action. what is most important is that we consistently and conscientiously make full use of the techniques available to us, thereby harnessing the true potential of technology. only with effective usage and widespread application can technology be the considered the best answer to environmental destruction.
