Response to Abortion

Sometimes situations seem to drive you to make certain logical decisions based on reasoning or probability, but there are always exceptions and miracles that do happen, as seen with Beethoven's case. Hence, it might not be wise to use logic to decide a baby's life or death and sacrifice a precious life just because of our deductions of the future (for example, deducing that beethoven might be deaf/mute or contract tuberculosis, and will not be able to grow up well in such a bad family environment).

The case for or against abortion is subjective and controversial, and is all dimensional. It requires the input from various factors such as the environment, the financial background, family support and personal values. Whichever the case, it is essential for one to maintain one's moral values in the process. Each decision has its consequences, and thus the final choice made by one will bear its repercussions.

One possible stand to take when abortion is involved is using utilitarianism. Abortion should only be considered if is beneficial to both the woman and the foetus so as to prevent problems from occurring in the future. We should keep in mind that as much as ending a life is wrong, bringing an unwanted child into the world is unfair to the child and the woman.

Although aborting a chlid may seem like an easy way out of a difficult situation, it may not be the best possible answer to the problem. In any case it is always wrong to take away the right of a person to live. Even though it is hard to determine when a fetus is a living human and when it is just a fetus, there is always a potential for life and greatness there and one decision can change the future in more ways than one so the decision has the be carefully made. there will never be a definite answer to abortion and everything has to be analysed on a case to case basis as there are always many factors involved in the decision making process.
